Calgary city council to reassess fees for parking in front of your home

By Iron Will / June 14, 2023 /

Oh yes, you can fight city hall and get action, as intense pushback by Calgarians has city council giving a full rethink on plans to charge citizens to park in front of their own homes.

Changes to the residential parking permit program, due to become effective on Aug. 1, would see annual fees for street parking in residential neighbourhoods increase to $50 for the first permit, $75 for a second permit, $125 for a third for a single address, plus two visitor permits priced at $75 each.

Before council approved the money grab, two single-address permits and visitor permits were free, with a third one priced at $108.90 per year.

A petition started by Change.org telling council to reconsider the costs and implementation of the new program was signed by thousands of irate homeowners and now 10 councillors have heard the fury and seen the light.

Grassroots Pressure Pays Off Again, as All Vaccine-Related Legislation in New York Fails to Become Law

By Roli / June 13, 2023 /

New York lawmakers on June 10 ended the 2023 legislative session in Albany without passing any of the four pending vaccine-related bills.

This is the fourth consecutive year that grassroots efforts, including those undertaken by Children’s Health Defense (CHD), have prevented any new vaccine-related legislation from becoming codified into New York state law.

The four bills pending before the legislature that did not move forward included legislation that would have allowed:

S762A: Minors to be vaccinated without parental knowledge or consent.
S1946: Tracking of medical exemptions.
S1531: Mandatory tracking of all adult vaccinations.
S7356: Dentists to administer COVID-19 and flu shots.

Barbie, McDonald’s Grimace meal heat up “summer of nostalgia”

By Iron Will / June 12, 2023 /

Throw on your bell bottoms, grab some Dunkaroos and your Tamagotchi, and rollerblade over to the movie theater to catch “The Little Mermaid” or another new retro film — this is shaping up to be the summer of nostalgia.

Why it matters: From the upcoming “Barbie” movie to a purple McDonald’s milkshake honoring the 52nd birthday of Grimace, throwback products and entertainment are huge this year — stirring up memories as they fill corporate cash registers.

Driving the news: The Gen Zers and millennials whom marketers call “kidults” seemingly can’t get enough of foods, fashions and movie franchises that remind them of childhood, and profit-minded companies are eager to please them.

Barbara Kay: NB Premier’s Stance Supporting Parental Rights a Promising Sign

By Iron Will / June 12, 2023 /

New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs has called for a review of LGBTQ policies in schools. Henceforth, parents of children under 16 will have the right to be informed of any changes of names or pronouns at school. “For it purposefully to be hidden from the parents, that’s a problem,” said Higgs. “To suggest that it’s OK that parents don’t need to know — just stop and think about that question for a moment.”

Many Canadian parents have been thinking about that question, and for much longer than a moment. According to a recent Leger survey, a majority of them—57 percent—agree that schools have a duty to inform parents, with only 18 percent disagreeing.

Predictably, Prime Minister Trudeau denounced the N.B. government as “far-right political actors” who were inflicting “cruelty and isolation” on vulnerable people. A tight-lipped Pierre Poilievre, who has consistently eschewed any stand on gender issues, only commented that he would “leave education policies to the provinces.”

Global Health Project

By Roli / June 11, 2023 /

Empowering Individuals

This film was created to be catalyst for individuals doubting the COVID narrative at varying levels to come forward and share their experiences and emotional sentiment with the safety net of trusted doctors as their voice. By doing so, it empowers individuals to break their silence and challenges the stigma and shame associated with resisting the intense COVID media narratives and manipulation tactics.

Creating solidarity & permission

The movement will foster a sense of solidarity among other individuals by demonstrating the prevalence and widespread recognition of coercion and influence by Global Health agencies over the medical profession. It will help individuals realize that they are not alone and that their experiences are not isolated incidents. By acknowledging that the doctors they gave authority to are now sharing their doubts and resistance, they will have more confidence in their position.

Clash of Ideologies Illustrated at Summit for Young Women

By Iron Will / June 11, 2023 /

GRAPEVINE, Texas—A giant LGBT flag flew over the Gaylord Convention Center, where thousands of young women gathered for a Turning Point USA convention over the weekend in defense of faith and conservatism.

The Young Women’s Leadership Summit held in the shadow of the rainbow flag was a reminder to attendees of how far radical left-wing ideologies have spread.

Much of the summit focused on politics, faith, marriage, and children—and how to stay true to those conservative beliefs in the face of left-wing attacks.

Powerhouse speakers such as commentator Candace Owens, swimmer Riley Gaines, and Congresswomen Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert received rockstar welcomes at what has been billed the largest event in the country for female conservatives.
