Undermining the Family

Gays and lesbians turning their back on Pride radicalism LGB Group: “We don’t even want Pride Month anymore, we just want to be separated from the TQ+ cult.”

By Iron Will / June 1, 2023 /

Instead, a growing number of LGB individuals are speaking out against the Pride flag, saying no “community” speaks for them – and trans women aren’t women.

A group run by gays, lesbians, and bisexuals on Twitter called LGB (@theLGBgroup) — which has over 15,000 followers — has been asking for a divorce from the “T,” which stands for “transgender.”

Letter to US Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association

By Iron Will / June 1, 2023 /

Re: Fairness in Women’s Hang Gliding & Paragliding

Dear USHPA:

The International Consortium on Female Sport (ICFS) includes representation from across the world. We are elite athletes and coaches, academics and scientists, and legal and human rights experts. We call on USHPA, and its member and state associations, to eliminate discrimination against female pilots, and restore fairness to the female category in hang gliding and paragliding.

In developing your policy for transgender and gender diverse players in 2019, we understand that you consulted with your community over Facebook. However, given a very high percentage of your pilots are male, and therefore unimpacted by your policy, and most women are scared to voice their concerns publicly, we are concerned that your female pilots’ voices have not been heard.

Sex in the Equality Act: the Westminster Hall debate – webinar

By Iron Will / June 1, 2023 /

Helen Joyce talked to academic Michael Foran and barrister Naomi Cunningham on 8th June 2023 about the upcoming Westminster Hall debate on clarifying the Equality Act
Among the questions discussed:

What is the policy problem this proposal aims to solve?
If our proposal becomes law (whether with our suggested wording or an alternative), what, in practical terms, is likely to change?
Our petition is being debated at the same time as a rival petition which calls on the government not to amend the definition of sex in the Equality Act. What are the best arguments put forward by opponents of clarity?
What, if anything, does the definition of sex in the Equality Act have to do with “gender self-identification”?

Maggie Smith soliloquy: Downton Abbey, the Corruption of the Great Families and the Future of Freedom

By Iron Will / May 31, 2023 /

For much of Downton Abbey, viewers are treated with glorious eye candy of British aristocratic life in a mighty estate, robust at first but fading as the seasons progress. What we are not given is a rationale behind the whole cultural structure of the house and the social order surrounding it. This is particularly important for American audiences who know none of this from modern experience.

The Dowager Countess is being pushed to turn over control of their own private hospital to a municipal government. Of course all the ‘progressives’ in the family and estate support this move but she is intransigent. Control must remain with the family, she insists.
Finally, in the course of a conversation in the library, she lays out her thinking. In a short soliloquy, she summarises 800 years of British history in a paragraph, and elucidates the understanding of such great thinkers as Bertrand de Jouvenel and Lord Acton. It’s the kind of history that is routinely denied to students and has been for decades. It’s a good lesson in political science too.

“For years I’ve watched governments take control of our lives,” she says, “and their argument is always the same: fewer costs and greater efficiency. But the result is the same too: less control by the people and more controlled by the state, until the individual’s own wishes count for nothing. That is what I consider my duty to resist.”

“By wielding your unelected power?” asks Lady Rosamund Payneswick, the daughter of the Dowager Countess.

Ignoring the swipe, the Dowager answers: “See, the point of a so-called great family is to protect our freedoms. That is why the Barons made King John sign the Magna Carta.”

Target Pride backlash exposes ‘rainbow capitalism’ problem, designer says

By Iron Will / May 31, 2023 /

LONDON, May 31 (Reuters) – U.S. retailer Target’s decision to remove some LGBTQ-themed merchandise after customer backlash in its stores highlights the problem with companies’ “rainbow capitalism,” said Erik Carnell, a transgender designer whose products were pulled from its stores.

Target (TGT.N) has sold LGBTQ-related goods tied to Pride month for years. But last week the big-box chain removed Carnell’s products, citing an increase in confrontations between customers and employees and incidents of Pride merchandise being thrown on the floor.

Social Media Poses ‘Profound Risk’ to Kids’ Mental Health, Surgeon General Warns

By Iron Will / May 31, 2023 /

Social media1
use by youth is nearly universal. Up to 95% of youth ages 13–17
report using a social media platform, with more than a third saying they use
social media “almost constantly.” 2 Although age 13 is commonly the required
minimum age used by social media platforms in the U.S.,3 nearly 40% of children
ages 8–12 use social media.4 Despite this widespread use among children and
adolescents, robust independent safety analyses on the impact of social media
on youth have not yet been conducted. There are increasing concerns among
researchers, parents and caregivers, young people, healthcare experts, and
others about the impact of social media on youth mental health.5, 6

Survey: Family Time ‘One of the Most Important Things’ to Most Americans

By Iron Will / May 31, 2023 /

A strong majority of Americans view family time as “very important” or “one of the most important” things in their lives, “far outranking other personal priorities,” a recent Pew Research Center survey found.

Roughly three-quarters (73 percent) of Americans rate spending time with family as one of the most important things to them personally, no matter how much time they actually spend with family.

“Nine-in-ten say they view it either as one of the most important things or as very important but not the most important thing,” according to the survey report.

Dodgers Pitcher Blake Treinen Blasts Team for Honoring Anti-Catholic Drag Queens

By Iron Will / May 31, 2023 /

Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen has publicly told his team to quit the LGBTQ propaganda after it invited the anti-Catholic drag queen group “The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” to its Pride Night.

In a public statement, Treinen said the drag queen group engages in “blasphemous” performances and “displays hate and mockery of Catholics and the Christian faith.”

“I understand that playing baseball is a privilege and not a right. My convictions in Jesus Christ will always come first. Since I have been with the Dodgers, they have been at the forefront of supporting a wide variety of groups,” he said.

“However, inviting the Sister’s of Perpetual Indulgence to perform disenfranchises a large community and promotes hate of Christians and people of faith,” he added. “This single event alienates the fans and supporters of the Dodgers, Major League Baseball, and professional sports.”

Alabama Extends Transgender Athlete Ban to State-Funded Colleges

By Iron Will / May 31, 2023 /

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has signed a bill into law that extends the state’s ban on transgender athletes playing in women’s sports from K-12 and now to college sports.

The state had already passed a law in 2021 that prevents boys claiming to be girls from playing K-12 girls’ sports. But the new law prevents college students from participating in girl’s sports under their “chosen” gender, even if they have had gender reassignment surgery, Fox News reports.

“Look, if you are a biological male, you are not going to be competing in women’s and girls’ sports in Alabama. It’s about fairness, plain and simple,” Ivey said after signing the bill into law.

“Forcing women to compete against biological men would reverse decades of progress that women have made for equal opportunity in athletics,” Bill sponsor Republican Rep. Susan DuBose said during the debate of the bill.
