He said “they” intentionally filtered out any independent thinkers to even get into medical school. Yes, a few slipped through the cracks, but the AMA head Honchos wanted NO doctors who would Rock The Boat. They wanted *Go Along To Get Along* Docs in their ranks. … I was friends & associates with some of the *Boat Rocker* Medical Doctors and Osteopaths. They caught a LOT of grief, and even bankruptcy for a few, for their independence of thought and practice. … After he published his books, Dr. Mendelsohn told me the AMA had an “informal committee” on *What to do about Bob Mendelsohn.* Apparently, he was too well respected and too well known to just trash him. So he was not as traumatized as some of the physicians I knew in those days. Some of them got it pretty bad for going aging the grain. This kept everyone else, the more timid, in line, apparently.
