MLA John Rustad, Nechako Lakes, Lead of the BC Conservative Party BC’s Health Professions and Occupations Act (formerly Bill 36). The clips of Minister Dix and Kenin Falcon the Leader of the BC Liberals then and now the BC United party presenting Bill36 and the need for it are to be generous misleading according to MLA John Rustad.
When the bill was presented there was little to no opposition, John was the politician that called for division (recorded vote). During the development of the bill all then parties in the legislature – the governing New Democratic Party (NDP), Be Liberals and Green worked on the bill. The consultation with the people of BC amounted to consulting with less than .01% of the people and did not include the full scope of the bill.
From personal experience when MLA Rustad was part of the then governing party, the appointment of members to a board is political. The political reality is while yes, the want competent board and capable board members but, they also want board members that will not be giving them “headaches”
