Mail-Order DIY Abortion Pills in Canada Raise Safety Concerns: Pro-Life Group

By Iron Will / March 31, 2024 /

Chemical abortions, using pills, have been available to Canadian women since 2017 and have since proliferated. But the relative lack of physician oversight, with some pills sent out by mail order, has sparked concerns about the welfare of women and unborn babies.

Cases have been documented in the United States of men spiking their pregnant girlfriends’ food or drink with the pill to cause undesired abortions. Such cases were compiled by think tank The Heritage Foundation in a December 2023 report, which also noted that the pills may leave women open to abuse and coercion.

“Coerced and forced abortions are already happening. And every time safety protocols are degraded, it becomes easier for an unsupportive partner, abuser, or trafficker to harm women, girls, and unborn children,” the report said.

Prolife Alberta echoed these concerns and others—including the health risk of complications during the at-home procedure—in a March email campaign calling for more stringent rules around the pills. The U.S. Supreme Court on March 26 heard arguments on limiting access to the pills.

Ontario School Board Directs Teachers Not to Disclose Students’ Transition to Parents Upon Request

By Roli / March 29, 2024 /

An Ontario school board is asking teachers to keep students’ gender transition confidential from their parents if asked to do so by the students, according to documents seen by The Epoch Times. This is contrary to the direction of the province’s education minister, who has said parents must be involved when it comes to this issue.

Internal documents obtained by The Epoch Times provide a look at how Ontario school boards are directing school administrators on the issue.

The Thames Valley District School Board, which serves London and other cities, has implemented a system dubbed MyName that allows students to choose preferred names that appear in the school’s various virtual systems, such as Google Classroom or the school’s library system. A Jan. 18, 2023, school board memo obtained by The Epoch Times tells administrators not to include the same name in the Student Information System (SIS) without getting the approval of the student, since the names on the SIS could be reflected in portals accessible by parents.

“Students may request a MyName change for several reasons, the most common being that not all students are ‘out’ to their parents, guardians or caregivers and are not ready or comfortable to add a Preferred Name to the SIS,” reads the memo.

Gender Self-ID in Spain Has Been a Disaster for Women

By Valerie / March 27, 2024 /

A year ago, Spain introduced gender self-ID, and the results have been predictably disastrous for women, with predatory men granting themselves access to female spaces. Spiked‘s Lauren Smith investigates.

Barely a year after Spain passed its ‘trans equality’ law, gender self-identification is wreaking havoc across the country. To almost no one’s surprise, the law that makes it significantly easier for anyone to legally change their gender has turned out to be a predator’s charter.
