Nova Scotia Reject Offer from Retired FireFighters to Help

By Iron Will / June 5, 2023 /

A team of retired professional highly trained experienced DNR forest fire fighters fought with the NS Gov to be deployed to raging forest fires for 4 days last week in June 2023 . The Government turned them down repeatedly. Meanwhile the public was told by the premier they were desperate for workers. Now the gov is bringing in forest fire fighters with zero experience fighting fires in the Acadian forest region. It is truly a failure in policy, politics, management at the director levels and above, and leadership. People need to be held accountable. The men on the ground however did exemplary work.

Hinshaw rehired in expectation of NDP win

By Iron Will / June 3, 2023 /

Dr. Deena Hinshaw has been rehired in preparation for an NDP victory against explicit instructions from Alberta Health Service administrators, according to sources close to Premier Danielle Smith.
The news of the widely despised Dr. Deena Hinshaw came as a shock to social media users after a memo began circling on Twitter.

The memo was sent from the Indigenous Wellness Core (IWC) of Alberta Health Services (AHS), dated June 1.

“The Indigenous Wellness Core is pleased to announce that Dr. Deena Hinshaw has been selected as the new IWC Public Health & Preventive Medicine lead,” the memo states.

“Please join us in welcoming Dr. Deena Hinshaw to the Indigenous Wellness Core. Dr. Hinshaw will begin her new role on June 5th, 2023,” the memo concludes.

Premier’s Office says Hinshaw memo fabricated, AHS says she is “not employed.”

By Iron Will / June 3, 2023 /

An official statement from Alberta Health Services (AHS) claims Dr. Deena Hinshaw is “not employed by AHS,” following widespread outcry over her apparent rehiring by the health authority.
The Counter Signal reported earlier today that Jason Kenney’s top medical advisor appeared to be rehired following a June 1 memo announcing she was back in business with AHS. Sources with direct knowledge of the situation now say that the memo had been fabricated.

“The Indigenous Wellness Core is pleased to announce that Dr. Deena Hinshaw has been selected as the new IWC Public Health & Preventive Medicine lead,” the apparently false memo stated.

“Please join us in welcoming Dr. Deena Hinshaw to the Indigenous Wellness Core. Dr. Hinshaw will begin her new role on June 5th, 2023,” the memo concludes.

The email on the memo, attributed personally to Dr. Hinshaw, was functioning and accepting emails at the time of this publication.

The Counter Signal reached out to AHS to confirm the authenticity of the 2 day old document, and late Saturday afternoon the health service said that they were refusing to comment on the alleged hiring earlier in the week, but that as of this moment, Hinshaw was not employed.

Saved From A Summons 6-4

By Iron Will / June 2, 2023 /

Liberal and New Democrat MPs last night saved David Johnston from a summons to testify on his dealings with the Trudeau Foundation. The Commons public accounts committee by a 6 to 4 vote adjourned debate on an order compelling Johnston to appear as a hostile witness.

“Elevating it to a summons is a demand,” said Conservative MP John Williamson (New Brunswick Southwest), chair of the committee. “It is a demand that is rarely rejected because it is akin to a court order. It virtually obliges the individual to appear.”

Johnston had dismissed committee requests that he testify on his work as a member of the Trudeau Foundation. The CEO and board of the Foundation resigned April 10 following disclosures the taxpayer-financed charity misreported a $140,000 gift from a Beijing donor affiliated with China Central Television and the Communist Youth League.

$66,940 Farm Junket To Rome

By Iron Will / June 2, 2023 /

The chair of the Senate agriculture committee yesterday would not comment on an Italian junket so costly other senators expressed unease with the expense. Senator Robert Black (Ont.) submitted a $66,940 budget to lead a four-member farm delegation to Italy in July for a study of “soil conditions in Canada.”

“Europe is astronomically expensive at that time of the year,” Senator Donald Plett (Man.) told the Senate committee on internal economy. “The agriculture committee was given some very clear instructions to bring the costs of their flights down in different ways,” he added.

The Senate agriculture committee proposed to send two senators and two aides to Rome in mid-July to visit the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. The budget included $42,600 for transportation including business class air tickets, another $13,120 for hotels at $820 a night for four nights, $2,800 for Roman taxis and $2,000 for meals.

On Vacation & Missed Memo

By Iron Will / June 2, 2023 /

Jody Thomas, national security advisor, yesterday said she was on holiday and never read a secret July 20, 2021 pre-election memo warning that Chinese agents had targeted a Conservative MP. Thomas testified at the House affairs committee the “integrity of my statements here” should not be questioned.

“I was the only one in the department who could read it but it wasn’t necessary for me to function as the Deputy Minister of Defence,” said Thomas. “There is a difference there.”

Thomas at the time was one of three deputy ministers who received the Canadian Security Intelligence Service memo warning Conservative MP Michael Chong (Wellington-Halton Hills, Ont.) was targeted by Chinese agents. Subsequent disclosure of the memo prompted the May 8 expulsion from Canada of Zhao Wei, a spy working at the Chinese consulate in Toronto.

A federal registry mandating disclosure of payments to all foreign agents “will provide us with very important tools,” Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair said yesterday. Cabinet has yet to set any deadline for introduction of a bill.

“It will be provide us with very important tools,” said Blair. “We all need to make sure that legislative response to these circumstances is robust and effective but it also has to be done thoughtfully and carefully,” he added.
