Alberta Federation of Labour President Gil McGowan said too many Albertans “have fallen down internet conspiracy rabbit holes.”

“It helps explain why the UCP [United Conservative Party] won,” said McGowan in a Tuesday tweet.
McGowan was commenting on a poll from Ekos Research which showed 88% of people were exposed to a high amount of disinformation voted UCP. The poll found one-tenth of those voted Alberta NDP, and 2% selected other.

It said 84% of those exposed to no disinformation voted NDP. Another 15% voted for the UCP, and 1% were other.
