There’s a new global push for digital currencies, and SWIFT is now planning to roll out a new platform that will connect the emerging central bank digital currencies into a single global network. The system is expected to be launched in one to two years. Already, more than 90 percent of the world’s central banks are exploring digital currencies, and the new network shows plans are in place to coordinate these in all parts of the world.
In this special discussion, we sit down with Donald Kendal, co-director of the Socialism Research Center at The Heartland Institute, to discuss central bank digital currencies and what the recent developments mean for the free world.
