Federal logging remains our mature and old-growth forests’ biggest threats. These trees are some of our best allies against climate change. They sequester and store tons of carbon, protect our drinking watersheds, and provide vital habitat for thousands of species.

What we are asking for is simple: permanently protect our mature and old-growth on federal lands. This isn’t a call to end all logging- strategic thinning and forest management practices to help maintain the health of the forest are still important. However, right now without a clear rule to protect our oldest, most important trees, 370,000 acres of these forests are on the chopping block.
