Jim Karahalios got his day in court.

While he felt being ushered to Ontario Court of Justice, along with wife and Cambridge New Blue Party candidate Belinda, was “heavy handed” for contravening the regional road election sign bylaw back in May 2022, the party leader said having the bylaw charges recently withdrawn “was a step in the right direction.”

Belinda faced seven counts of permit placement of a sign other than a permitted sign, which included charges for having elections signs placed in Cambridge and North Dumfries on Pinebush Road, Water Street, Franklin Boulevard, Roseville Road and Dumfries Road, Roseville Road and Edworthy Side Road, and Wrigley Road.
