Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland again missed key forecasts in her own budget, says the Parliamentary Budget Office. Analysts warned the deficit is up this year, not down, and is now 16 percent higher than Freeland predicted.

“For the current fiscal year the Budget Office predicts the budgetary deficit to rise,” analysts wrote in an Economic And Fiscal Outlook. It warned of “uncertainty surrounding our economic and fiscal outlook” due to high interest charges and a slowing economy.
