A conservative Catholic bishop has been removed by Pope Francis after he vocally criticized the pontiff’s liberal agenda.

Bishop Joseph Strickland was removed as the leader of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas after he accused the pope of “undermining” the Christian faith with his radical views.

The Vatican made the announcement in one line at the end of its Holy See bulletin Saturday.

The Catholic Church revealed that he had been “removed” from the “pastoral care of the diocese.”

Bishop Joe Vásquez of Austin was appointed as interim apostolic administrator.
