By Iron Will / July 21, 2023 /

China is experiencing record-breaking extreme heat — as is much of the Northern hemisphere — and as temperatures skyrocket, so too are sales of sun protection gear that offers near-complete coverage.

Accessories like the “facekini” are selling out in China as a means to cover up the face to protect against sunburns and skin cancer from ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure. Facekinis are somewhat like balaclavas, with holes for the eyes and mouth, though they’re typically made of lightweight, synthetic fabrics such as polyester.

New Beaver Logo Is Familiar

By Iron Will / July 19, 2023 /

Parks Canada has trademarked a new beaver logo at an undisclosed cost. The old beaver’s crisscross tail (left) was eliminated on the new logo (right) and will look better on uniforms, the agency said.

“Parks Canada has updated its beaver logo,” managers wrote in a Trademarks Act filing with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office. “This new version resolves legibility issues and ensures the beaver logo displays consistently and with higher fidelity across all of its many uses.”

“The old version of the logo contained elements that did not reproduce well at small sizes, in particular images for small digital screens and embroidered products such as patches or brand elements on uniforms,” wrote management.

Disgraced Disney CEO Bob Iger “put roughly a third of the company up for sale this week,” Bloomberg Business reports.

According to the report, the sale announcement was a subtle but unmistakable one. Iger made the announcement during his disastrous CNBC interview last week, where he was caught lying with the false claim that Disney is not sexualizing children.

By declaring its cable and broadcast TV assets “noncore,” the report says, Iger told the world ABC TV, the FX cable networks, National Geographic, and Freeform are all for sale. He’s also looking for a partner for the failing ESPN.
