Twenty-four reasons why Net Zero must be abandoned

By Iron Will / June 18, 2023 /

1. Carbon dioxide (CO2) does not cause global warming.

2. There is no evidence that it does.

3. It has never been shown by replicable scientific experiment that CO2 traps heat, either infra-red or any other wavelength.

4. Heatwaves, floods and hurricanes are localised weather events. They have occurred throughout history and are not getting more frequent or more severe. They cannot be proved to be caused by CO2 so they are not evidence.

5. Carbon dioxide is an invisible gas. Almost all of it in the atmosphere is natural. It is breathed out by humans and animals and absorbed by plants and trees which would die without it. It is also absorbed and outgassed by the oceans.

The makers of Roundup, the world’s top weedkiller, will pay $6.9 million for violating an agreement with the state of New York to stop making false claims about the safety of its best-selling herbicides.

Bayer and Monsanto, which was acquired by the German agrochemical giant for $63 billion in 2018, violated a 1996 agreement with the state of New York to “immediately cease and desist” from making false and misleading claims about glyphosate-based Roundup products, the New York attorney general’s office announced Thursday.

Studies have linked glyphosate, the active ingredient in many Roundup products, to a wide range of harmful effects on pollinators, lab animals and people. In March, a first-of-its-kind study linked Roundup to liver and metabolic disease in children.

In a recent interview with Jordan B. Peterson, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he thinks many of the causes of sexual dysphoria, particularly with boys, are coming from chemical exposure. In particular, he mentioned the widely used herbicide atrazine.

In the June 5 interview, Peterson and Kennedy discussed a wide range of topics including Kennedy’s presidential bid. When the conversation turned to environmental issues, Kennedy noted that the “huge levels of depression” seen in today’s kids, as well as “a lot of the sexual dysphoria that we’re seeing” may be the result of toxic chemicals.

Climate change: UN to unmask fossil fuel lobbyists at climate talks

By Iron Will / June 16, 2023 /

Oil, gas and coal representatives will have to disclose their industry ties at future climate meetings, the UN says.

For years, fossil fuel employees have been able to attend without having to be clear about their relationship with their companies.

Last year, over 600 industry participants were able to enter the COP27 meeting in Egypt.

Campaigners say the UN ruling is the first step to limiting the influence of polluters.
