Depression falls into five main categories based on the neurotransmitters involved, says nutritional medicine expert, Dr. William J. Walsh.
His research shows that depression significantly improves for 80 to 85 percent of people through targeting their specific neurotransmitter problem with the right nutrients. This is to be expected given that nutrients, like amino acids, vitamins, and minerals are raw materials for making neurotransmitters.
Dr. Walsh joins Vitals Signs with Brendon Fallon to reveal how depression and other mental illnesses can be treated using targeted nutrient therapy.
For example, in testing 800 cases of postpartum depression, an elevated copper level was identified as the major problem, he says.
