The Department of Canadian Heritage paid thousands to a Toronto pundit who disparaged Conservatives in a series of profane TikTok posts, Access To Information records show. Dylan Horner did not comment.
Documents indicate Horner was the best paid of any “social media influencer” subsidized by the Department of Canadian Heritage in 2022. He was paid $9,000 plus expenses for a brief appearance in Ottawa, according to contracts issued through Corus Sales Inc. of Toronto.
Corus Sales was contracted to “run a promotional campaign for activities related to Canada Day,” said a Statement Of Work. “Dylan Horner will be required to come to Ottawa to create content on Canada Day programming,” it said.
