A French history teacher was murdered and beheaded three years ago for his instruction on freedom of expression, his crime being that he showed students cartoons from a 2012 edition of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo which depicted Muhammad – one of the cartoons allegedly showing the Islamic prophet with his genitals exposed. Of course, any depiction of Muhammad is prohibited. Chapter 42, verse 11 of the Koran states: “[Allah is] the originator of the heavens and the earth… [there is] nothing like a likeness of Him.” This is taken by Muslims to mean that Allah cannot be captured in an image by human hand, and any attempt to do so may not end well.

Another French teacher, Dominique Bernard, was murdered on October 13 of this year by a Muslim terrorist who was looking for a history teacher. In the clash of civilizations across the world, there is a side which opposes the values of the Enlightenment and French Revolution, as French President Emmanuel Macron pointed out.

British Columbia nurse Amy Hamm faces potential discipline for a series of social media posts, podcast appearances, videos, and other writings dating from July 2018 to March 2021 in which she is said to have made, according to a citation from the B.C. College of Nurses and Midwives, “discriminatory and derogatory statements regarding transgender people” while identifying herself as a nurse. Her online posts “mocked various transgender women as ‘a man in a dress’ and referred to ‘them’ using the pronouns ‘he’ or ‘him.’”
