The CPC will meet in Quebec City from September 7–9 to vote on several new policy proposals.

One proposal that CPC delegates will vote on is opposing medical interventions in youth under 18 who suffer from gender dysphoria.

The proposal titled “Protecting Children’s Mental and Physical Health” seeks to ban “life altering medicinal or surgical interventions on minors under 18 to treat gender confusion or dysphoria, and encourage positive mental and physical health support for all Canadians suffering from gender dysphoria and related mental health challenge.”

Currently, the pharmaceutical and surgical interventions given to minors in Canada is euphemistically referred to as “gender-affirming care.”
