Friends star Mathew Perry, best known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit comedy Friends, died at the age of 54. TMZ reported that Perry, who was public about his struggles with alcohol and drug addiction, was reportedly found at his own home in a hot tub after law enforcement responded to a call for cardiac arrest around 4 pm local time. No drugs were found at the scene. Matthew Perry had reportedly played 2 hours of pickleball on Saturday morning and sent his assistant to run some errands. When the assistant returned to Perry’s home, he found him unresponsive and dialed 911.
A prior post of Perry selling Friends-themed “Could I BE anymore vaccinated?” shirts resurfaced shortly after the news of his death became public. the post recommended getting your shot and then getting a shirt. Proceeds were donated to the United Nations’ World Health Organization.
The Los Angeles medical examiner listed Perry’s cause of death as ‘deferred’ until additional studies have been completed.
