To what extent has multiculturalism and related “diversity” provided benefit for Canadians of European heritage?

As some readers may be aware of, Multicultural Awareness Month comes to Canada during the month of October.

A National Post article published this week alludes to a piece of reality poorly understood by general society. There are so many monthly tributes to Canada’s “minority” and special interest communities that the phenomenon is too common for its own good.

October also happens to be Islamic Heritage Month(non-existent), in addition to Women’s Heritage Month(existent). Canadians are also benefactors of Tamil Heritage Month, Bangladeshi Heritage Month, and several other attempts to fulfill Pierre Trudeau’s original vision for multicultural society established in the early 1970s.
